Africa and colonizers

Perhaps Africa is the continent which suffered the most on the hands of colonizers in the previous centuries. Distribution of resources fairly among the masses, whether they are mineral, agricultural or even human ones, had always been a real issue for the collective conscious of any society/civilization. We have heard many scholars saying that a society can be judged by its treatment of its poor people or low income classes or those people who have lesser access to the power structure. We can say, this is very much same for the nations across the globe. It is very clear that at any point of time in the history there are some superpowers and others who are their allies and then there are those who stay on the borders of the pages of history; the downtrodden ones, the forgotten ones. We also know that nations and civilizations don't stay always at the top slots, things keep changing for the nations just like the powerful individuals. History is just the registering agent of all these happenings. So if we are to judge a civilization, a superpower; we will have to judge it by its treatment of those nations, groups and races, who were at those times under the their order. If you don't go too much far behind and just visit the previous 200 odd years of western colonizers record in this regard, especially keeping Africa in mind, do you know where we can rate them from one to 10 in any honest observation, compilation of the data and the correct conclusions? Their grades will be much lesser than many think.

Britain, France, Germany, Portugal, Spain and Italy were the major colonizers during the era, which I earlier mentioned. One can check the records of the industrial growth, GDP, health facilities improvement, educational institutes development, recreational infrastructure development and the other civic facilities of colonizers and colonized ones. Just this comparison, keeping in mind that one was colonizer and the other was colonized, will bring the true picture and reasons of today’s situation of Africa before us. Some friend referred me a movie, actually a Netflix product, The boy who harnessed the wind, and the state of affairs off people of Africa just moved me so much after watching it. A year or two back, I watched some child soldier movies about African continent and that was really terrifying experience too. We today recognize Africa from famines, hunger, wars, ultimate corruption, lawlessness and every bad thing we can name, so a simple question, after spending hundreds of years over there what have France, Portugal, Spain, Germany and other colonizers left for them?

Third grade democracy, puppet dictators and emptied mining places!
